World’s Largest Firework Set Off In Steamboat Springs
By Patrick Knight on February 9, 2020
Over the weekend, Steamboat Springs launched the world’s largest firework. Ever! According to records, the shell weighed nearly 2,800 pounds and was a little more than five feet in diameter. The firework was part of the city’s annual winter carnival.
TheĀ former world recordĀ for the largest firework was set in the United Arab Emirates in 2018 with a 2,397-pound shell.
A crew at Steamboat Fireworks launched the massive firework about a mile into the night air before it exploded. It traveled at nearly 300 miles-per-hour after being shot out of metal tube that had been buried in Emerald Mountain.
Now that is pretty cool!
