The KYGO Pet Of The Week: Witchita

Here is Wichita!  She is between 2-3 years old and she is a transfer from Texas, where she was part of a dog hoarding situation and was trapped and rescued.  We guess her to be a Catahoula/beagle mix.  She is heart worm positive, so she would benefit from a foster home before she can go up for adoption.  MaxFund is entirely responsible for the medical care of foster dogs, which includes the cost of heart worm treatment.  She would need a calm, quiet home environment as the heart worm will cause extra damage if her heart rate gets too high. Heart worm treatment can be 6-8 months long, and we require a 3 month minimum commitment from a foster home for heart worm dogs.  Folks can find our foster application on maxfund.org under the Fostering tab, and can submit it to fostering at maxfund.org.
