Well this is scary…
During Russian President Vladimir Putin’s State of the Union address on February 29th he mentioned several military targets in the U.S. that could be at risk if American forces join the fight on the ground in Ukraine. On the list is one spot in Colorado!
There are 14 targets listed in all, the one in Colorado is Peterson Air Force Base. It’s the home of NORAD/NORTHCOM, Space Command, US Army Space and Missile Defense Command, Cheyenne Mountain Air Force Base, the 302nd Airlift Wingm and the 21st Force Support Squadron. Peterson Air Force Base is home to about 6,750 active duty personnel, and 1,525 reservists. The article specifically lists the 21st Force Support Squadron as the potential target.
Here are the 13 other targets listed:
- The Pentagon in Washington D.C.
- Naval Station Norfolk
- Comfort Suites Kings Bay Naval Base Area
- Barksdale Air Force Base (US 2nd Bomb Wing)
- Whiteman Air Force Base
- United States Strategic Command
- VLF Array Lualualei Naval Transmitting Facility
- Kirtland Air Force Base
- Warren Air Force Base
- Minot Air Force Base
- Hill Air Force Base
- Malmstrom Air Force Base
- Naval Radio Station Jim Creek
This isn’t the first time Putin has threatened nuclear war with the West in recent years, but it doesn’t make reading this any easier.
