There’s a new way to deal with your pet’s remains. “Aquamation,” which is becoming more popular with pet owners, uses a mixture of water and chemicals to turn the body of your pet into drainage-safe wastewater, leaving behind their bones. The bones can then be ground into ash for the pet owner to take home.
The price varies depending on the size of the animal, starting over $100 and going over $500 for large pets over 150 pounds.
The process is currently legal in 28 states, including Colorado, Alabama, California, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, and others.
A quick Google search shows there are multiple places in Colorado that currently offer the service.
