Shirtless McConaughey Gets His Start in a Trisha Yearwood Video
Academy award winning actor Matthew McConaughey’s first acting role was in a Trisha Yearwood video way back in 1992. The video in question? Yearwood’s country smash hit, “Walkaway Joe,” where McConaughey plays heartthrob “Joe,” and if you haven’t seen it, it’s in typical Matthew McConaughey fashion. Half of the video is with the dazed and confused star with his shirt off. According to an interview that the country superstar told people magazine, she and McConaughey had never met on set. You see, Matthew was a college student at the University of Texas and was cast from a local agency in Austin, where most of the footage was filmed. The best part of the whole thing is if McConaughey wants to be in another Trisha Yearwood video, she won’t make him audition. We all start somewhere and Garth’s queen of country, isn’t a bad place to start.
Mickey Guyton and Breland
Country’s newest superstar Mickey Guyton seems to be the “it girl” of 2021 and definitely a hot ticket these days. With her beautiful performance of “Black Like Me” at this year’s Grammy’s, she’s not only cohosting next month’s ACM’s along side Keith Urban, but she’s also lending her vocals to Breland’s “Cross Country” remix. “Cross Country”, in the original version is all Breland’s life story. Being a jersey kid that somehow made it into the world of country music as a singer and rapper. The remix is all sorts of awesome with Guyton singing about her Texas roots. The two collaborating together will probably make this remix into a bonifide country chart topper!
