Full Monty actor Tom Wilkinson dead at 75 years old

The acting world is remembering actor Tom Wilkinson who has passed away at the age of 75.  

The actor who has well over 125 acting credits under his belt is best known for his role in the 1997 British comedy film “The Full Monty” as Gerald. 

The Full Monty was just one role of many that his works is recognized for.  He also starred and was recognized for his work in 2001’s “In the Bedroom” which he was nominated for a best actor Academy Award and in 2007 for “Michael Clayton” which he was nominated for best supporting actor.  

In addition, he also won a Bafta for The Full Monty and an Emmy for playing Benjamin Franklin in 2008’s “John Adams” and another Emmy nomination for his role as JFK’s father in “The Kennedys”.

Other movies he appeared in included “Batman Begins,” “Selma,” “Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol,” “Rush Hour” on top of dozens more.

His cause of death is not known yet, but according to BBC, his family shared a statement saying “It is with great sadness that the family of Tom Wilkinson announce that he died suddenly at home on December 30. His wife and family were with him.”
