Denver Coliseum Will Become a Warming Center During This Week’s Bitter Cold
By Shawn Patrick on December 20, 2022
Denver will likely see temperatures colder than we’ve had in the city in three decades on Thursday. Unfortunately a large population of people have nowhere to go to escape those dangerously low temperatures, so the city is doing something about it.
A 24-hour warming center will be opening at the Denver Coliseum beginning on Wednesday.
The coliseum, which is located at 600 Humboldt Street, will be open for anyone who needs a warm place to stay. In addition, all of Denver’s recreation centers will be operating as warming centers during their regular hours on Thursday and Friday.
