Country Stars React to the Passing of Kenny Rogers
By Paul Donovan on March 21, 2020
We were so shocked to hear the news of Kenny Rogers. His career spanned DECADES. He was my first concert with my mom at the Lake Charles Civic Center. Dolly Parton just so happened to be with him on the tour. Little did I know then, I’d spend my early career in radio playing their songs. I still laugh thinking about his tossing twenty-dollar bills off the stage the last time I saw him at Fiddler’s Green. Now THAT was funny! And no, I didn’t get one of those! Thanks for the great music Sweet Music Man! – Paul Donovan
The Rogers family is sad to announce that Kenny Rogers passed away last night at 10:25PM at the age of 81. Rogers passed away peacefully at home from natural causes under the care of hospice and surrounded by his family. https://t.co/adxAgiMW2s pic.twitter.com/nggWiiotMT

You never know how much you love somebody until they’re gone. I’ve had so many wonderful years and wonderful times with my friend Kenny, but above all the music and the success I loved him as a wonderful man and a true friend. pic.twitter.com/hIQLIvt8pr

My first concert ever was in Columbia, SC to see Kenny. I was a little boy then and called him “Kidney Rogers!” He was such a force in music period, not just country. He will be missed and I am grateful for his body of work. pic.twitter.com/8Of5HUxSFh

No one bridged the gap between country and pop more often and better than Kenny Rogers. He will be missed, but his music and diverse style of story telling will live on forever. pic.twitter.com/J1V2dyRjm7

Today country music lost a legend. I had the honor of singing with @_KennyRogers at the 2013 CMA’s. Just watch everybody singing along in the audience. What joy he brought to the world. pic.twitter.com/J9lFOsbVfy
