Colorado is scheduled to get a brand new outdoor amphitheater that’ll hold 8,000 people this summer, and now things are getting real serious as they just announced their first big act…

Platinum-selling Colorado pop group OneRepublic will headline Sunset Amphitheater in north Colorado Springs when the $90 million project debuts to the public on Aug. 9.

Notes Live, the venue’s creators, have promised “an unparalleled view of the sun setting over Pikes Peak, America’s mountain, right behind the stage as each concert begins, flanked by the United States Air Force Academy stadium on the left and the iconic Air Force chapel on the right.”

The Sunset Amphitheater will host large touring acts and feature amenities like 60 VIP luxury firepit suites, four-to-five star restaurants including a chophouse with a rooftop bar “carrying over 150 of the rarest bourbons in the world,” according to Notes Live.

Grammy-nominated act OneRepublic, led by singer-songwriter Ryan Tedder, is originally from Colorado Springs and is making a rare local appearance for the event.
