If you ever use I-25 south of Castle Rock, be prepared to either stay out of the far left lane or start paying to use it!

The express lane in the I-25 “South Gap” between Monument and Castle Rock will start charging tolls on Jan. 17th, officials with the Colorado Department of Transportation have confirmed.

The express lanes first opened in December of 2021. Since then, those tolls were waived for testing.

There is no exact amount for the charges, they will vary based on time of day and traffic volume, but will be posted on signs above the interstate.
